My name is Cristian Serna, and I've been working in insurance for over 20 years — first inside a captive agency environment with Nationwide, then as an independent agent free to shop the full market on your behalf. That shift from captive to independent wasn't just a career move. It changed how I could serve clients. When no carrier is paying my rent, my only job is finding you the right coverage at the right price.
I was born in Colombia and have called the Atlanta metro home for more than 25 years. I built my career here, raised my family here, and opened Excelso Insurance Agency here in Gwinnett County because this community is mine. When Spanish-speaking families come to me looking for an agent who understands where they're coming from — not just linguistically, but culturally — I'm not handing them off to a translator. I'm the agent. I handle the policy, the questions, the claims conversations, and the renewals, in whichever language makes things clearest.
